Two longtime Hana team members have been recognized for their exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to developing others.
Tony Caver received the Hana Leadership Award, while Richard Tourville was named Instructor of the Year for 2025–2026.
The recognition reflects years of consistent performance and a partnership that has helped strengthen Hana’s Mid-Atlantic operations. Throughout 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, Tony and Richard were the only two instructors supporting six sites across four geographic areas in the region. Together, they delivered new-hire instruction, Phase 2 training, and sustainment shoots, helping ensure Hana personnel were prepared to meet the demands of the contract.
Tony Caver: Leadership Through Service
In the spring of 2025, Tony Caver stepped into the role of Regional Training Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region. Since then, he has expanded the training department in size, scope, and influence.
Today, Tony leads a team of five while remaining closely connected to the day-to-day work. He continues to serve as an active instructor and regularly works alongside his team in the classroom.
Tony also helped guide the training function through a demanding period of transition across the Mid-Atlantic contract. Vice President of Training Chip Larkin reflected on Tony’s impact: “Tony has been instrumental in morale, quality control, and counseling at the Norfolk sites during the leadership change there.”
Colleagues across Hana frequently seek Tony out for professional guidance and mentorship. His ability to understand people, develop talent, and work through complex challenges has made him a trusted leader throughout the organization.
Richard Tourville: Setting the Standard for Instruction
Richard Tourville serves as Lead Instructor for Hana’s Mid-Atlantic contract. Before joining the training team, Richard served in the U.S. Navy as a senior enlisted Master-at-Arms, bringing extensive operational experience to his role.
Over the years, Richard has become a go-to instructor for a wide range of contract-related training. He has also traveled extensively over the past five years, delivering training across Mid-Atlantic locations wherever support was needed.
Beyond the classroom, Richard has contributed to training plans, schedules, curriculum development, operational planning, and support for new business opportunities.
Those who work with Richard also know the sense of humor he brings to the job. His famously funny impressions of others are part of what makes his classes engaging and memorable.
As Vice President of Training Chip Larkin put it, “Richard does what great instructors do so often—he makes training look easy.”
A Partnership That Strengthens Us
Tony and Richard have made significant contributions to Hana over many years, often without formal recognition. Their work has been critical to supporting the Mid-Atlantic contract and preparing the security professionals who serve it every day.
Individually, each has demonstrated exceptional dedication. Together, they have helped build a stronger training program while mentoring and developing the next generation of Hana instructors and security professionals.
